Citrus Heights Police Logs: May 2-4, 2016

Latest Citrus Heights police logs in May include picketers at the new Smart & Final on opening day, a panhandling “superhero,” and a man getting kicked in the throat at Jack in the Box.

The following is a summary of select incidents listed in the Citrus Heights Police Department’s daily incident bulletins, from May 2 to May 4, 2016:

May 2, 2016: Total of 66 incidents listed.
Incident report categories of note: 13 disturbance-related, 8 homeless-related, 3 burglaries, 9 petty thefts, 4 assault reports, 2 stolen vehicles reported.

12:38 p.m., Assault, San Juan/Madison. Two men were reportedly fighting outside of a gas station at the intersection, with one of the men “spraying the other with something.”

12:52 p.m., Burglary, Salishan Apartments. Tools, including three Dewalt drills, were reported stolen from the office and recreational room. The apartments are located on Ramona Lane, off Auburn Boulevard.

4:34 p.m., Disturbance loitering, Dollar Tree on Macy Plaza Dr. A panhandler in his 20s reportedly said he would not leave “until he gets a phone charger.” He had also “wrapped his shirt around his head and was running around mimicking a superhero.”

May 3, 2016: Total of 62 incidents listed.
Incident report categories of note: 11 disturbance-related, 9 homeless-related, 6 burglaries, 3 petty thefts, 4 assault reports, 4 stolen vehicle reports.

4:28 p.m., Grand theft, Verizon Wireless at Birdcage Center. A man in his mid-30s reportedly walked into the store, grabbed three Samsung Galaxy phones and ran outside. Estimated loss: $2,300.

6:08 p.m., Assault with a weapon, Jack In The Box on Sunrise Blvd. A caller requested an ambulance and said another person had kicked him in the throat and hit him with a grey pole. The two parties reportedly knew eachother.

May 4, 2016: Total of 49 incidents listed.
Incident report categories of note: 15 disturbance-related, 3 homeless-related, 3 burglaries, 3 petty thefts, 7 assault reports, 2 stolen vehicles reported.

6:21 a.m., Reckless driving, Smoke Tree Ct. A caller reported that a black suburban had been driving onto the street “on the hour and every hour,” for the past 12 hours. The vehicle was also described as driving recklessly, with the driver at one point getting out to hang up “some sort of cultural skull artwork.”

4:23 p.m., Verbal disturbance, Smart & Final. Picketers were reportedly in front of the new Smart & Final store at the corner of Madison Avenue and Sunrise Boulevard. The store had just opened that day and picketers were allegedly “starting to become verbal with customers.”

5:21 p.m., Fraud/forgery, Rite Aid, Sunrise Blvd. A man in his 30s reportedly tried to pass a fake $50 bill inside the store before proceeding outside and yelling that they needed to accept the bill.
