Citrus Heights police logs: March 7-9

The following is a summary of select incidents listed in the Citrus Heights Police Department’s daily incident bulletins, from March 7 through March 9, 2016.

March 7, 2016: Total of 44 incidents listed.
Incident categories of note: 15 disturbance-related (verbal, loitering), 7 homeless-related, 4 petty theft/shoplifting, 2 assault reports, 2 robbery/burglary reports, 2 stolen vehicles reported.

12:25 p.m., Robbery, Willowcreek Dr. A caller said he was in his vehicle on Willowcreek Drive, off San Juan Avenue, when a person opened his door and said “Do I know you. Give me your money.” The person then punched the caller in the face and fled with $300 in a white ford wagon. Disposition listed: assisted.

7:21 p.m., Fraud/Forgery, Lauppe Ln. A caller said he attempted to rent a duplex in Roseville online and had deposited a $2,000 check into a Chase bank account as a deposit for the rental. He then told police he “can no longer get ahold of the subject allegedly renting the duplex” and believes it was a scam. Disposition listed: report taken.

3:22 p.m., Intoxicated person, Safeway Center. An intoxicated transient in his 70’s was issued a citation by police after being reported in front of Lauderland on Greenback Lane.

March 8, 2016: Total of 51 incidents listed.
Incident categories of note: 12 disturbance-related, 9 petty theft/shoplifting, 5 robbery/burglary reports, 4 assaults, 4 homeless-related, 2 stolen vehicle reports.

12:49 p.m., Shoplifting, Grocery Outlet. A female was issued a citation after reportedly shoplifting from the Grocery Outlet store on Greenback Lane. The only item listed as being taken was “moisturizer.”

8:14 p.m., Stolen vehicle, Starbucks. A caller reported a green 1997 Honda Accord had been stolen sometime after 3 p.m., while parked at the Starbucks inside Barnes & Noble on Sunrise Boulevard. Disposition listed: report taken.

8:24 p.m., Burglary, Longford Dr. A caller said she had just gotten home and reported her house had been ransacked and was missing a couch, microwave, and several other items. Entry had been made through windows. The caller also advised that a male had recently come up to her with a flashlight and asked for her name and who lives at the home. Disposition listed: report taken.

9:16 p.m., Domestic violence, Indian River Dr. A 12-year-old caller told police that her dad was very drunk and was inside “getting physical” with her mom. The caller was described as being very scared and said the dad wouldn’t let her mom take their 2-year-old baby. Disposition listed: assisted.

10:45 p.m., Assault, 7440 Club. An individual trying to break up a disturbance issue inside the bar two days earlier reportedly ended up with a broken nose and sprained knee after being head-butted. The incident occurred at the 7440 Club on Auburn Boulevard. Disposition listed: advised.

March 9, 2016: Total of 63 incidents listed.
Incident categories of note: 21 disturbance-related, 7 assaults, 6 homeless-related, 6 home/vehicle burglaries, no stolen vehicle reports.

3:26 a.m., Vehicle burglary, Stones Casino. A sergeant with the Sacramento Sheriff’s Department was eating at Stones Casino on Antelope Road when he was contacted by a casino manager about a vehicle that was broken into. The sergeant said he would stand by with the manager to wait for Citrus Heights police to respond. Disposition listed: report taken.

8:46 a.m., Assault, San Juan High School. A reported assault at San Juan High School on Greenback Lane resulted in an arrest. No other details were listed.

5:32 p.m. Shoplifting, Sunrise Mall. A suspect was arrested by police after attempting to steal approximately $100 to $150 of merchandise from JC Penny at Sunrise Mall.

8:12 p.m., Assault, Price Funeral Chapel. A large disturbance, categorized as “physical,” reportedly occurred at Price Funeral Chapel on Sunrise Boulevard. The incident involved about 15-20 people and was “all related to one viewing.” Disposition listed: assisted.
