The following is a summary of select incidents listed in the Citrus Heights Police Department’s daily incident bulletins, from Feb. 29 through March 2, 2016.
Feb. 29, 2016: Total of 50 incidents listed.
2:55 a.m., Vehicle burglary, Blayden Ct. A vehicle burglary was interrupted on Blayden Court near Northwoods Park, reportedly involving two males. The caller followed the pair to the area of Oak Avenue and Fair Oaks Boulevard and provided a partial license plate of a gold Toyota Corolla involved. Disposition listed: gone on arrival.
10:51 a.m., Brandishing weapon, Bayoak Wy. An arrest was made after a caller in a wheelchair reported a female roommate was “off meds” and walking around with a knife, threatening to stab the caller. The incident occurred on Bayoak Way, near Rusch Drive. Disposition listed: arrest.
9:24 a.m., Reckless driving, Lichen Dr. A caller reported that a driver of a purple scion had been swerving and traveling at around 70 miles an hour through the neighborhood of Lichen and Brimstone Drives. The driver was reportedly yelling and threw a bottle at the caller. A description of a driver in his mid-20’s was given, but plates were unknown. Disposition listed: unable to locate.
8:42 a.m., Assault, Birdcage St. A battery incident between a mother and grandmother was reported to police, occurring at the Birdcage Village Apartments. The mother reportedly had a knife. Disposition listed: assisted.
Other incident reports of note: nine disturbance-related reports, six assault reports, four homeless-related (camping, panhandling), four reports related to stolen vehicles.
March 1, 2016: Total of 54 incidents listed
10:19 a.m., Disturbance Loitering, Sunrise Golf Course. Six transients were reported behind PetSmart with “items scattered all over behind the fence.” The issue was described as an ongoing problem. Disposition listed: assisted.
3:49 p.m., Petty theft, Sports Authority. A female reportedly walked out of the Sports Authority on Birdcage Center Lane with around $300-400 of clothing. A description of the vehicle she left in was provided, but plates were unknown. Disposition listed: report taken.
10:15 p.m., Vandalism, Verhoven Ct. A caller reported someone had thrown a garden stake at their vehicle and dented it. The stake reportedly belonged to a neighbor who had told the caller it was “likely one of her adult nephews who did it.” The nephews were not currently at the scene. Disposition listed: advised.
Other incident reports of note: 17 disturbance-related (verbal, loitering), nine reports of reckless driving, seven homeless-related reports, two assaults reported.
March 2, 2016: Total of 48 incidents listed
3:52 p.m., Robbery, Shadow Lane. A caller said he was robbed of his medical marijuana while walking through the Autumn Ridge Apartments. He said two males “came up to him and intimidated him into emptying his pockets.” No weapons were reportedly involved. Disposition listed: advised.
4:05 p.m., Vandalism, Rusch Park. A caller reported that around 20 minors were writing their names and profanities in wet cement that had been poured that day near the Veteran’s Grove area. Disposition listed: gone on arrival.
4:53 p.m., Grand theft, Verizon. A person reportedly stole four phones from the sales floor at the Verizon Wireless in the Birdcage Center on Sunrise Boulevard. Disposition listed: report taken.
Other incident reports of note: 13 disturbance-related (verbal, noise, loitering), eight homeless-related, three reports of suspected DUI drivers, three assaults reported.
