Scooter riders executing 360-degree spins, a backflip, and falls on the asphalt are showcased in a new video uploaded to YouTube this week, filmed during the 2015 scooter competition at Rusch Park by an extreme sports video team.
The three-minute video highlights tricks and falls from riders Kevin Closson and Jake Sorenson, during the competition in Citrus Heights on May 9.
At one point, the video shows Closson’s cell phone flying out of his pocket after successfully landing a 360 degree spin. As the phone slides across the asphalt, the competition emcee is heard over the mic sympathetically saying “dude, that’s like +20 points right there.”
The four-hour competition was open to contestants 18 and under, with riders reviewed by a three-judge panel and competing for prizes and the opportunity to win gold, silver and bronze medals
