A residential fire blazed through a Citrus Heights home near Tupelo Drive Tuesday morning, with Sacramento Metro Fire reporting the rescue of two dogs from the fire.
Fire crews reported seeing heavy flames and smoke upon arrival to the 7100 block of Schooner Way just after 8:40 a.m., with Metro Fire stating the blaze had been “knocked down” by 9:07 a.m.
A photo posted on the fire district’s Twitter account showed heavy damage to the home, with plumes of smoke drifting from charred remains of what once was the roof of the garage.

No one was reported injured in Tuesday’s blaze, according to Metro Fire, and the Red Cross is assisting the displaced family.
The cause of the fire has not yet been released.
